Connie Barlow and Rev. Michael Dowd, America's "evolutionary evangelists", will be speaking at UUFSD on Sunday, February 19, at both the 9:00 AM and the 11:00 AM services. This couple live permanently on the road, teaching and preaching an awe-inspiring, inclusive, science-based message of hope and possibility in churches and schools all across North America. Since April 2002, Connie and Michael have delivered talks for more than 400 UU congregations, summer camps, and minister retreats, as well as for other religious and secular groups. Their work was featured as the cover story of our national membership magazine, UU World, in the spring of 2006. They’ve also been featured in The New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, and Discover Magazine, and on television nationally on CNN, ABC News. CONNIE is the author of 4 popular science books that bridge evolution and meaning. MICHAEL is the author of Thank God for Evolution, which has been endorsed by 6 Nobel laureates and other science luminaries, including noted skeptics, and by religious leaders across the spectrum. We have an "interesting" four years ahead of us so why not become a beacon of love & light by joining the nationwide movement for progressive liberal religion and wearing a Standing on the Side of Love t-shirt? There are many styles and sizes available along with bumper stickers, lapel pins and more. At many events, vigils, protests, rallies and other actions you'll see your fellow UU's in their sunny Standing on the Side of Love t-shirts. You are hereby heartily invited to join in!
