Greg Brown Photo. Greg Brown, a member of San Dieguito UU Fellowship for 30 years and an architect, joined several other members last Saturday in sprucing up the grounds. Stu Anderson chairs the Fellowship's Buildings/Grounds Landscape Group.

From Len Pellettieri of First UU Church: “If you haven't heard of the book 'Three Cups of Tea' by David Relin, you will. It's the KPBS/San Diego Public Library's choice for the San Diego Reads campaign going on. It's the true story of a hero, American Greg Mortenson, who has built 66 schools for girls and boys in the remote mountains of Pakistan - and now Afghanistan. At an open-to-the-public meeting at the Old Globe on Jan. 28, Relin showed slides and told the story to a packed house. Very inspirational.”

The audience was moved to ask, “What can we do to help?” One of the answers was, Buy and read the book; then pass it on.”

On Monday, Feb. 18, Greg will speak at the University of San Diego's Joan Kroc Peace and Justice Institute at 6 p.m. Call (619) 260-5821 for more information. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 11:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. he'll speak at San Diego City College. Call (619) 388- 3554. On Feb. 20, he'll be at Camp Pendleton. Call (760) 899-2105.
