Celebration. “I think we can celebrate,” wrote South Bay Intern Minister Carol Layne in an e-mail yesterday after last Sunday's service at First UU Church that gave members a glimpse of what lies ahead at its South Bay campus. “I think we accomplished our goal (in Manuel's words) to inform and inspire. In her e-mail, Carol passed along others' comments: "Some people said I wondered how you were going to make informing us about South Bay worshipful but you did ... Someone said now she had a much better idea of what the South Bay Campus was about. Several said now they got what the technology was about and what it could do for us." In another e-mail, a member wrote: “I was at the first service ... all who were around me were so impressed!” The South Bay campus has an expected start date of October 2008.

Mark the Calendar. On April 27, Rev. Dr. Beth Johnson of Palomar UU Fellowship, and Rev. Tom Owen-Towle, interim minister at UU Fellowship of San Dieguito, will lead the Sunday Service held at the Marriott Del Mar as part of District Assembly. Choirs from Palomar and Chalice UU Congregation in Escondido, will perform. “This is a great opportunity to feel the power and joy of the wider Unitarian Universalist community,” reads an item in Telescope, the Palomar newsletter.
