Chalice
UU Congregation is the result of a merger
between two former UU churches—the Inland North
County UU Fellowship and Chalice UU Church—and
serves the communities of Poway, Rancho Bernardo,
and Escondido. With strong lay leadership and the
dynamic
ministry of Rev. Margo McKenna Brower, Chalice
continues to set records as one of the fastest-growing
UU congregations
in the U.S. It has won special recognition for growth
from our regional governing body, the Pacific Southwest
District. In 2004, Chalice moved its worship services
and office spaces to a beautiful new facility in
Escondido.

The
UU Fellowship of San Dieguito serves Solana
Beach, Del Mar, Encinitas and other North County coastal
areas. It is built on seven acres of hillside land donated
by two members and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The Fellowship
holds outdoor services year-round (except during rainy
weather) in an amphitheater surrounded by pines and natural
vegetation. Red-tailed hawks often soar overhead during
Sunday morning worship services. The architecturally distinctive
campus includes a meeting hall, library, classrooms and
offices, and is completely accessible to physically handicapped
visitors. Rev. David Miller started as
minister in August 2009.
