Arts & Music
The Chalice Choir meets weekly for practice and we welcome all newcomers! For more information and directions to our rehearsal location, please visit the Chalice Choir page.
The music program at First Unitarian Universalist Church Hillcrest and South Bay includes a children’s choir (ages 5-12), a youth choir (ages 13-18), the Chalice Choir adult choir, two handbell choirs, the JUUL Tones and more! Each group contributes regularly to our worship services, where music plays a significant role. Visit the First UU Music page for details about all of our music programs.
If you like to sing and can read music, please come join the The Palomar UUF Choir. Caroline Celia is the Musical Coordinator. Caroline has been involved in music all her life. She taught vocal music grades 4-12 in Imperial Schools and has taught private piano and voice lessons for many, many years. As Musical Coordinator, Caroline is all music things at Palomar UU Fellowship in Vista. Visit the Palomar congregation Music & Choirs page for more information.
Music is an important part of our Sunday service, with plenty of singing by the congregation and our choir. A typical service includes a prelude, two hymns and a postlude. Instrumental soloists frequently perform at our services, sharing their talent on the piano, banjo, guitar, flute and other instruments. The choir welcomes experienced singers and novices alike. If you love to sing and can make a commitment to come for rehearsals and be present when the choir sings—the choir would love to have you join them. The choir has about 30 members, some of whom are long-time members and others who are newcomers. Please visit the San Dieguito music page for more information.
Sunday service music is supplied by our choir, musicians in our congregation, and guest artists. If you would like to share your musical or artistic talent at Summit, please visit the Summit Music page for more info.

Music and arts—in their infinite variety and forms—have long been close to the hearts of Unitarian Universalists for their ability to express the depths of human emotion and spiritual connection.
We are happy to say that arts of all media play a significant role in the life of all our San Diego County UU congregations. You are cordially welcomed to attend the concerts, art workshops and other special events offered at many of our churches and fellowships. Keep abreast of these activities by visiting the in the web site of each UU church in San Diego. Of course, if you are an artist of any expression—musician, painter, sculptor, graphic designer, photographer, actor, singer, dancer, clown, comedian, magician, juggler, unicyclist—we hope you will consider sharing your gifts. This page outlines some of the opportunities that currently exist. Please contact those listed below to get involved, or to suggest a new and exciting arts possibility. “You are the music while the music lasts.” —T.S. Eliot Other Groups
