Help raise funds for impoverished women in San Diego, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, & Uganda by:
  1. Supporting First UU Church of San Diego's Women's Chorus project on Faithify - the UU crowdfunding site: https://www.faithify.org/projects/stronger-together-concert-empowering-poor-women/
  2. Purchase a ticket to Stronger Together! - the chorus' 2nd Annual Concert benefiting Women's Empowerment International (WE) on April 29.
In addition to wonderful music, you'll hear from several of WE's clients during the concert (7-8 p.m.) & have the opportunity to support their small businesses at the pre- (6-6:45 p.m.) & post-concert (8-9 p.m.) sale while attending the post-concert wine reception. Tickets are $15 in advance & $20 at the door. Have questions or need more information, contact Jan Garbosky at jgarbosky@cox.net. Hope to see you there!

Connie Barlow and Rev. Michael Dowd, America's "evolutionary evangelists", will be speaking at UUFSD on Sunday, February 19, at both the 9:00 AM and the 11:00 AM services. This couple live permanently on the road, teaching and preaching an awe-inspiring, inclusive, science-based message of hope and possibility in churches and schools all across North America. Since April 2002, Connie and Michael have delivered talks for more than 400 UU congregations, summer camps, and minister retreats, as well as for other religious and secular groups. Their work was featured as the cover story of our national membership magazine, UU World, in the spring of 2006. They’ve also been featured in The New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, and Discover Magazine, and on television nationally on CNN, ABC News. CONNIE is the author of 4 popular science books that bridge evolution and meaning. MICHAEL is the author of Thank God for Evolution, which has been endorsed by 6 Nobel laureates and other science luminaries, including noted skeptics, and by religious leaders across the spectrum.

Join Wednesday Women in affirming that freedom of religion means all religions

Wednesday Women is a group of women of all faiths who wear hijab on Wednesdays, starting with World Hijab Day on Wednesday, February 1st, 2017, and continuing until the end of the Trump/Pence administration or until the administration makes an official public statement, backed with concrete action, disavowing all forms of religious discrimination. That means no registering Muslims, no surveilling mosques, no restricting travel or immigration based on religion--no religious discrimination in any form. We do this to show support for our Muslim sisters and brothers who face persecution in this volatile time, and to show the world that Americans will not tolerate this. We invite you to join us. Please distribute this information to your congregations, and to any group or person you think might be supportive. For more information, see our website WednesdayWomen.us and our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Wednesday-Women-1824262824491518/
