The February Generosity Offering at First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego's Hillcrest campus will go to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir of San Diego. This all-volunteer choir is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Since 1997 the MLK Choir has been performing gospel concerts to raise funds for educational grants to give to San Diego County high school seniors pursuing a college degree in visual or performing arts. Their inspirational and uplifting music celebrates the history of the negro spiritual with a season that runs from September through June. This year marks their 20th anniversary of awarding grants to San Diego County students who will pursue their studies in the visual and performing arts.
