You’ll notice rose petals on stage, and a pot of hot water & herbal teas (including ginger) on stage table. Unitarians can be a bit serious, so we especially appreciated her interactive sing-alongs “If Not Now” and “Place at the Table” … helps us to get out of our heads, more into our hearts! Here are a few comments that we have received so far …

The UUFSD Band were first up on the concert schedule. Other musical groups featured include Project Harmony (Chalice), Eklectic GrUUve (Palomar), Singchronicity (Friends of UUFSD), Apostles of Vibe (Palomar), and Kensington(Friends of Chalice’s Grunnion Run). ![]() The San Diego UU Network sponsors and promotes a number of musical events each year highlighting the musical talents of our local UU members, as well as well-loved musicians from across the country. All of these events feature music that promote and affirm UU principles, which include a focus on social justice, compassion in human relations, and support of spiritual growth, along with an appreciation for the interdependent web of life. ![]() We are very pleased to report that our 2nd Annual Cluster Leadership Conference was well attended with many great sessions, interactions and ideas for strengthening our UU community. Over 80 attendees gathered to worship and then attend the morning sessions. Half went with Rev. Laura Randall to learn about planned giving while the others gathered with Nancy Bowen to learn about leadership development. A delicious lunch was held in Bard Hall with attendees enjoying the great food and conversation. It proved to be a valuable networking opportunity between our far-flung congregations with many people meeting in person for the first time! For the afternoon sessions we split into a group to listen to Anabel Kugel and Bonnie Bear discuss mental health and the church while the other group attended Nate Walker's interesting talk about creating online ministry. Each session ended with evaluations of the sessions and a strategy session for action items to move forward. The day concluded with a joyful worship service. Thank you to all of the board members, volunteers and staff who helped create this event. Stay tuned for updates on the initiatives that were created - as well as their outcomes! |
