Through story-telling, music, belly dance, drumming, ritual & magick, we honor the ageless triumph of the human spirit on the longest night of the year. This family friendly event will even include childcare. Arrive at 5:15pm for hot wassail and a magical forest filled with characters, rivers of twinkle lights, a bonfire and music. The suggested donation is $7 for children up to 12 years of age and $15 for people 13 and older.
Winter Solstice is not a “show” but a sacred worship event which has elements of liturgical theater such as singing, dancing, storytelling, poetry, drumming, reflection, and prayer. Appropriate for all ages and spiritual paths. Children welcome and childcare provided for the very young ones. Festive Solstice attire encouraged! From flowing capes and garland crowns to Faery wings to traditional holiday garb. Plan to arrive no later than 5:30pm to allow for a one -lane street parking back up. Seating is first come, first serve. The ritual begins promptly at 6:30 ends at 8:00 pm. There is no “intermission.” Parking is free. When the church lot is full, overflow parking is directed to UCSD’s multi -level parking structure. You must pick up a parking coupon from the ACE parking attendant. It takes a few minutes to walk to the Meeting House from the UCSD parking structure. Carpooling is encouraged. Public street parking is available, but limited.
